Ocean Park

The area known as North of Montana consists of larger family homes and lots then the rest of the city of Santa Monica. Homes are very pricy here, among the most expensive in Los Angeles County and the country. Home prices range between 2.5 million up to 10 million, although the most expensive homes are located just north of San Vicente on La Mesa Drive. Continued...

Pico Neighborhood

Located in the southwest corner of Santa Monica is the Ocean Park Neighborhood. This neighborhood has a mix of older smaller homes, apartment buildings, large homes near the beach and condos. The area is bounded by Pico Blvd to the north, Lincoln Blvd on the east, Dewey St. on the south and the Pacific Ocean on the west.

The area has a beachy, artsy feel similar in manner to its neighbor Venice Beach, although much cleaner, safer and upscale. Many Santa Monica residents come to shop/browse on Main Street, home of many boutiques and restaurants. Main Street also hosts a weekly farmer's market on Sundays. SMASH (an alternative school) and John Muir elementary schools are located in the neighborhood. Olympic High, an alternative high school, and Santa Monica High School are also located in the area. Sunset Park

As Santa Monica’s most affordable neighborhood, It's boundaries are Lincoln Blvd to the west, Centinela Ave to the east, Olympic Ave to the north and Pico Blvd to the south. The Santa Monica Freeway runs through the area with access near both Lincoln Boulevard and Olympic Blvd.

Santa Monica High School and Santa Monica College are both on Pico. Pico Blvd in Santa Monica has traffic lights at nearly every block, as well as local and middle class businesses. Continued...

Wilshire Montana

Sunset Park is located south of Pico Blvd., east of Lincoln Blvd., west of the Santa Monica airport at Centinela Ave. and north of Dewey St. Sunset Park boasts a mix of homes ranging from Craftsman homes built in the 1930's to modern architectural styles as well as more traditional homes. Most of the homes of Sunset Park are small one-story houses built in the 1940s for workers at the Douglas Aircraft Factory.

The streets south of Ocean Park Blvd. slope down towards Marine, Navy, and Ozone streets. Homes along these slopes often feature greenbelt, city lights, or even distant ocean views. Many 2-bedroom homes built in the 1940's and 1950's still remain in addition to larger homes. Some condos and townhomes are to be found near the east end of Sunset Park on streets such as 34th and Centinela.

Sunset Park is part of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. Will Rogers and Grant elementary schools and John Adams Middle School are located in the neighborhood. Santa Monica College, a two-year community college, is also located in Sunset Park. Continued...
